Xtreme Pull Huge Showing At GLCC
FORT WAYNE – Midwest Xtreme sent a handful of competition teams to the GLCC Speedway Challenge in Fort Wayne and came away with a host of honors.
The Senior 3 Team made a notable splash, which beat the nationally-ranked team from Zionsville InterActive Academy. The Supercell from Midwest Xtreme topped the Mega Stars from Lima, Ohio, and InterActive in the Senior Small division. InterActive was listed to have triple the amount of competitors than Midwest Xtreme as the Supercell pulled the major upset. MX received a full-paid bid to the U.S. Finals later this year.
The Midwest Xtreme Avalanche Senior 2 cheer team also claimed first place in the Senior Prep division, besting Club 10 from Sullivan, Ind., for top honors. Club 10 was ranked No. 1 in the PREP Cheer Division as of January 1. The Avalanche earned a full-paid bid to the Grand Nationals Showdown later this year in Chicago.
The Junior Coed Hip Hop Dance Team After Shock also gathered in a first-place show in the Junior 1 competition.
Other Midwest Xtreme teams that placed at GLCC included the Riptide, which finished seventh in the Mini Prep 1 competition, the Typhoon placed second in the Youth Prep 1 division and the Storm took fifth Youth L2 division.
Midwest Xtreme also earned one other honor at GLCC, taking the “Rock It Out” award, having the loudest support at the meet during the Level 2 Senior Prep competition.
