Dale L. McCollough
Dale L. McCollough, 86, Bourbon, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at his home.
Dale was born Sept. 14, 1929, at Bourbon, to Harry and Frances (Kitch) McCollough. He was a lifelong resident of Bourbon. He farmed and retired from the United States Postal service as a rural letter carrier in 2000. Dale enjoyed reading, collecting canes, banks and Bourbon memorabilia. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Inwood United Methodist Church. Dale honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Dale married the former Judy Gilley on March 3, 1958; she survives along with their five children: Doreen Kay Grayless, Linton; Kerry L. Emonds, Bourbon; JoLYnne McCollough, Bourbon, Kevin Dale McCollough, Bourbon; Michael Lee McCollough, Bourbon; five grandchildren: Megan Wilson; Erin (Daniel) Jerison; Andrew (Shandi) Wilson; Kylie Edmonds; Caleb McCollough; great-grandchild: Aiden Wilson; 20 aunts and uncles; and 85 cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The McCollough family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon. Memorials in honor of Dale may be made to the hospice of your choice or to Inwood United Methodist Church.
