Fort Wayne Man Charged with Fraud and Theft
WARSAW — A Fort Wayne man has been arrested on fraud and theft charges after allegedly taking another person’s debit card.
Jermain Dirk Greene, 35, 4129 Richfield Lane, Fort Wayne, was booked shortly after noon Friday, Feb. 26, on charges of fraud, a level 6 felony, and theft, a class A misdemeanor. His bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
Warsaw Police filed an affidavit of probable cause on Feb. 8, with Kosciusko Superior Court 1. In that document police stated on Jan. 23, Warsaw Police Officer Roy Navarro was notified of a theft and fraud, which had occurred at Lassus Handy-Dandy, Warsaw. A female reported her PNC debit card had been used without her permission at that business on Jan. 20 and at a Marathon station. A total of $304.75 was charged to the card.
She told police in October Greene had been residing at her residence and in December she told him to move out. The two had an argument on Jan. 19 and it was agreed he would leave Jan. 20. Before he left he asked her to give him some money, which she refused. It is at that time she believes he took her PNC debit card.
A surveillance video from both locations were obtained. The videos show Green at the ATM machines at the time the money was obtained.
