Mo-ped after being struck by vehicle on Fox Farm and Leigh Drive

UPDATE: Darrell Thompson, 50, Warsaw, sustained minor injuries after his mo-ped was struck by a hit and run driver. He was treated at the scene by Lutheran EMS.

Kosciusko County Police report at approximately 7:49 p.m. Sunday evening, Feb. 28, the Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicular accident with personal injuries on Fox Farm Road, near Leigh Drive, Warsaw. Officers arrived and found a mo-ped and its driver, Thompson.

Thompson told police he was southbound on Fox Farm Road when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck. He told deputies the driver stopped his truck, got out and checked on him, but returned to his vehicle and left the scene southbound, then eastbound onto Lake Street.

Police described the truck as possibly a 1980s style Chevrolet, with grey over white two-toned coloring. He also stated the driver appeared to be in his 60s, sandy blond or grey hair, mustache and wearing a blue T-shirt that was visible under a brown Carhart jacket.

WARSAW —  Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Lutheran EMS were at the scene of a vehicle and mo-ped accident on Fox Farm Road and West Leigh Drive.

The driver of the mo-ped was transported by Lutheran EMS.
