Florence D. Bradley
Florence D. Bradley, 105, Wabash, died at 9:05 am, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor West in Wabash. She was born November 10, 1910 in Blackford County, to Walter Irven and Goldie (Emshweiler) Dick.
Florence married John David “J.D.” Bradley in Hartford City, on Oct. 5, 1930, he died November 22, 1986. She worked for Wabash Magnetics 21 years, retiring in 1973. Florence was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Rachel Circle and Senior Fellowship Group of the church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #90, the Progressive Home Ec Club, AARP and the Wabash County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, and reading.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Wahlig, LaPorte; Beverley Anacker, Brownsburg; Sharon (Chris) Newhouse, Wabash; eight grandchildren, Tim Wahlig, Laporte; Beth Eckert, Plymouth; Greg Wahlig, LaPorte; Laura Burchard, Kokomo; Brent (Margot) Burchard, Slidell, La,; Ron (Tammy) Burchard, Pittsboro; Bradley (Carrie) Harris, Wabash and Larry Scott Harris, California; granddaughter-in-law, Cheryl Harris, California; nine great grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters, several step grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, one grandson, and two great grandsons.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday Feb. 29, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Ken Goble officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Monday, at the funeral home.
