David Lee Stettler
David Lee Stettler, 70, Fort Wayne, died at 7:36 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at his home. He was born June 4, 1945, in Wabash, to William and Doris (Baxter) Stettler.
In his early years, Dave would help his family at Bill’s Cafe, the family restaurant business. After graduating from Wabash High School in 1963, he attended International Business College and St. Francis University, both in Fort Wayne. He met his wife, Sheila Stettler, through a mutual friend and they were married on Oct. 7, 1967, at Woodlawn Methodist Church in Somerset. He was an accountant at Essex Wire and Cable in Fort Wayne, retiring in 2004 after 38 years. Dave will be remembered for the involvement he had in raising his three boys, the care he had for his wife, and the generosity he displayed toward his family. He enjoyed driving sportscars.
He is survived by his wife: Sheila Ann Stettler, Fort Wayne; three sons: Devin (Cindy) Stettler, McCordsville; Chad (Paige) Stettler, Louisville, Ky.; Heath (Angela) Stettler, Roanoke; seven grandchildren: Samantha Stettler; Hannah Stettler, both of McCordsville; Taylor Stettler; Abigail Stettler, both of Roanoke; Izek Stettler; Avy Stettler; and Ever Stettler, all of Lousivlle; his sister: Judy Waggoner, Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Rev. Jonathan Cornell officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the funeral home.
