Kathryn J. ‘Jean’ Stewart
Kathryn J. “Jean” Stewart, 81, Syracuse, passed away at 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at her home. She was born on June 4, 1934, in Plymouth, to Leroy and Glenn (Rohrer) Coplen.
She graduated in 1952 from Carmel High School, Carmel, and on Jan. 25, 1953, in Carmel she married Morris R. Stewart who survives. She moved to Syracuse (Dewart Lake) in 1972 from Carmel having summered there for many years before. She retired in 1996 from Chore-Time Brock in Milford after 19 years. She formerly worked for Dr. Myers in Syracuse and was Camp Manager with her husband at Quaker Haven Camp for nine years.
She was a member of the Dewart Lake Friends Church.
She is survived by her husband: Morris Stewart, Syracuse; Kathy (Tom) Anglin, Nappanee; four sons: Michael (Lee Anne) Stewart, Syracuse; John Stewart, Indianapolis; Eric (Loretta) Stewart, McLean, Va.; and David (Jeff Hutchins) Stewart, Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother: Carl (Betty) Coplen, Avon Park, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Lowell Coplen.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Private family services will take place at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
