Man Arrested For Thefts At Bison Manufacturing
WARSAW — A break-in and theft of televisions, along with damage of trailers at Bison Manufacturing, SR 15, Milford just before Christmas, has resulted in the arrest of Travis Allen Lafollette, 5101 W. Corly Lane, Silver Lake.
Lafollette was arrested by Warsaw Police Department at 9:58 p.m. in Warsaw. He has been charged with burglary, a level 5 felony, and theft, a level 6 felony. The charges were filed against Lafollette on Feb. 10.
Milford Police were called to Bison Manufacturing on Dec. 17, 2015, when the plant manager, Josh Brown, found 15 camper horse trailers broken into and five Jensen 24-inch flat screen televisions stolen. It was also found someone had cut and scratched the interior and exterior of the campers with what was believed to be a knife, causing extensive damage.
The value of the flat screens were estimated at $1,200 and damage to the campers totaled $29,161.
Police learned the following day that Lafollette was selling flat screen televisions and that he had been fired from the business two weeks earlier.
When police questioned Lafollette he stated another individual had brought him two flat screen televisions. He was told to sell them for $50 each and he could keep half the money. One television was sold and the other was at Lafollette’s residence. The serial numbers matched one of the televisions stolen form Bison.
Police continued their investigation talking to several other individuals who stated Lafollette sold them televisions. One individual stated Lafollete told him, he and another individual went to Bison to steel scrap metal from the aluminum bins. Since there was not much scrap metal, they decided to break into the camper horse trailers.
Lafollette later admitted he entered the campers and stole the televisions, while the other individual vandalized the trailers to get even with Brown. The other individual also worked at Bison Manufacturing.
