Secrest Also Named Supreme 15
INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in two days, the IBCA has tabbed Tippecanoe Valley junior Anne Secrest with a state honor. Secrest was named to the IBCA/Subway Underclass Supreme 15, a who’s who of state girls basketball players for the 2016-17 season.
Secrest, who was named a Junior All-Star on Wednesday, was bestowed the Supreme 15 honor Thursday among a slew of players from the state named to various lists.
The Underclass Supreme 15 also includes a pair of South Bend St. Joseph stars in Nicole Konieczny and Daly Sullivan.
Among the Underclass Small School All-State (A and AA schools), Whitko’s Aly Reiff, Argos’ Courtney Dunlap and Oregon-Davis’ Alexandria Bope are among the group. Underclass Honorable Mention include Lanie Allen of East Noble, Leigha Brown of DeKalb, Dayton Groninger of Warsaw, Lindsy Kline of Penn, Camryn Kopka of Winamac, Macy Seese and Madison Taylor of Oregon-Davis, Kyannah Stull of John Glenn and Kaylie Warble of West Noble.
Camryn Buhr of state champion Penn leads the Senior Supreme 15 as the only area player to make the list. Teammate Kaitlyn Marenyi was named to the Senior Large School All-State (AAA and AAAA schools) along with Lauren Grewe of Mishawaka.
Senior Small School All-State (A and AA schools) included a host of area players including Grace Hales and Maria McCoy of Westview, Alexa Holland of Rochester, Kyleigh Kubik and Lexi Minix of Oregon-Davis, Darienne Maust of Bethany Christian, Riley Popplewell of South Central (Union Mills) and Shae Rhonehouse of Fremont.
Named Senior Honorable Mention included Mykala Baylor of South Bend Clay, Micaela Box of Bremen, Madi Canady of Huntington North, Baleigh Carithers of Northridge, Claire Carlton of Penn, Hannah Coad of Knox, Paige DeCamp of East Noble, Sarah Fryman of Huntington North, Taylor Kranenburg of Oregon-Davis, Jen Reiff of Whitko, Kylee Rostochak of Wawasee and Taylor Smith of Garrett.
