Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
10:53 a.m. Friday, March 4, East DeFreese Road, east of North CR 300E, Syracuse. Driver: Cynthia L. Tomblin, 50, EMS D18B Lane, Syracuse. Tomblin was transported to Lutheran Hospital Fort Wayne after complaining of pain to the abdomen/pelvic area. Tomblin over corrected her vehicle after it went off the road, causing it to go off the opposite side oft he road and hit an REMC pole, go through a fence and roll over. Damage up to $2,500.
8:18 a.m. Friday, March 4, South SR 19, Akron. Drivers; Keegan R. Larimer, 17, West Harrison Street, Mentone, and Scott S. Sponseller, 37, West Railroad Street, Atwood. Larimer’s vehicle slid while making a turn into Tippecanoe Valley High School, hitting the stopped Sponseller vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
1:04 a.m. Friday, March 4, East US 30, west of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Melissa A. Bennett, 43, Holton Avenue, Fort Wayne. Bennett’s vehicle slid off the road, flipped over and landed on its roof. Damage up to $10,000.
11:36 p.m. Thursday, March 3, East US 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Drivers; Chase A. Reichel, 23, Brubaker Street, Warsaw, and Blagoy S. Petrunov, 45, South McKinley, Arlington Heights, Ill. Reichel’s vehicle struck a patch of ice, went across the median into an eastbound semitractor hitting the duel wheel/rim skirt, mud flaps, then went back across the median in the westbound lane. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
3:59 p.m. Sunday, March 6, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Leerick B. Bowser, 25, South SR 14 Akron, and Kiersten A. Smith, 19, Saint Marys Drive, Warsaw. Bowser was backing from a parking space and hit the Smith vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
2:54 p.m. Sunday, March 6, Lake City Highway, west of Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Walter G. Martinez, 22, East Randolph, Lapaz; Blake D. McCan, 25, South CR 300E, Knox; and Edward G. McArdle III, 43, Turnberry Lane, Fort Wayne. The Martinez vehicle struck the back of the McCan vehicle, which was pushed into the back of the McArdle vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
7:13 p.m. Saturday, March 5, North Detroit Street and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Juan J. Casas, 33, Mile 22 1/2 Road, Edenburg, Texas, and Angela J. Nochebuena, 35, South CR 700W, Mentone. Casas made a right turn to head south on Detroit Street and attempted to pass the Nochebuena vehicle, hitting the right side of the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
2:13 p.m. Saturday, March 5, North Detroit Street, and West CR 300N, Warsaw. Drivers: William E. Moore, 91, Longtree Lane, Logansport and Samantha N. Pierog, 24, North Highland Lane, Leesburg. Moore stated he turned in front of the Pierog vehicle. Moore was transported to Lutheran Hospital after complaining of pain to the neck and chest. Damage up to $25,000.
