Triton Lands Six In All-HNAC
BOURBON – Triton added a few more highlights to the season reel for boys basketball. Six players were honored by the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Monday among its boys basketball All-HNAC selections.
The Trojans, which finished 6-2 and third in the HNAC standings, had Jordan Anderson and Masen Yeo land on the First Team All-HNAC. Grant Johnson was Second Team All-HNAC and the trio of Jarrett Kreft, Zac Pitney and Dalton Bailey were tabbed Honorable Mention All-HNAC.
Triton, finishing behind co-champs Pioneer and Winamac with 7-1 conference marks, still had, and will continue to have, a fine season. The Trojans won the Bi-County championship and just ran through the Triton Sectional to claim its 12th championship as a program. Triton (18-7) is the lone HNAC team left in the state tournament, alive in the Class 1-A regional in its matchup with Gary 21st Century this Saturday at the Triton Regional.
Winamac’s Derek Dotlich was named the conference Player of the Year and Austin Cowley of Pioneer was tabbed the Coach of the Year.
The First Team All-HNAC includes Anderson, Yeo, Dotlich, LaVille’s Adam Steinke, Winamac’s Jack DeGroot, Culver’s Everett Krueger, and Pioneer’s Caleb Kindley and Sam Kiser.
The Second Team All-HNAC includes Johnson, Knox’s Kooper Broeker, Caston’s Brayton Jellison, LaVille’s Jason Breden, Culver’s Nate Carnegie, Winamac’s Luke Pugh and Pioneer’s Keith Niles and Trey Waddups.
The Honorable Mention All-HNAC includes Kreft, Pitney, Bailey, Culver’s Josh Krsek, Winamac’s Colin McGee, Calvin Larkin and Caleb Smith, Knox’s Eian Coad, Pioneer’s Zach Mason and Jack Kiser, LaVille’s Issac Eash and North Judson’s Jordan Darnell.
