Around Us: Illinois Officer Stops Drunk Driver With Tree Embedded In Car
ROSELLE, ILL. — An Illinois police department has gone to the videotape to prove their doubters wrong about a drunk driving stop.
Earlier this year, an officer with the Roselle Police Department stopped a drunk driver who was traveling with a 15-foot tree stuck in the grille of the car.
The department posted photos of the unusual stop to Facebook, but a lot of people didn’t believe they were real.
The officer spots the car coming the opposite direction with the tree sticking straight up. When the officer approached the car, he noticed the airbags had deployed, likely from the collision with the tree.
The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.
Roselle is located on the west side of Chicago, near O’Hare Airport.
