Corbin Edward Minix
Little Mister Corbin Edward Minix was welcomed to our world by his loving family at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Corbin was the cherished son of Melissa Burton and Nathen Minix. Later that day at 9:40 p.m. baby Corbin passed to the arms of Jesus, joining him for eternal life.
June 5 was Corbin’s due date, but he arrived at 26 weeks. God’s blessings were bestowed on him, weighing in at 2 pounds and 10 1/2 ounces. He measured 14 1/4 inches in length and had thick black hair. Very active in the womb, he joyfully listened to his mommy and daddy’s voices. Everyone anticipated the arrival of this curious and vibrant little boy named Corbin, especially his big brother Caleb. He loved being held by mommy and daddy and their radiant warmth. Corbin was especially delighted gripping his daddy’s finger. Although his time here with us was brief, his sweet and precious memory will forever live in our hearts.
Little Corbin Edward will always be lovingly remembered by his parents: Melissa Burton and Nathen Minix; big brother: Caleb Lee Minix, all of Rochester; Aunt Christy, Uncle Jimmy and cousin Aliyah Hornberger all of Leiters Ford; family friend: Laura Runkle and family of Macy; maternal grandmother: Kathy Burton of Leiters Ford; and paternal grandparents: Patricia Minix of Winamac, and Melvin Smith of Kewanna. Welcoming Corbin to Heaven are many family members who have gone before including his grandfather: Jerry Edward Burton, who passed away on Jan. 29, 2016, and his Aunt Alisha Burton.
A celebration of the life of little Corbin Edward Minix will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester with Pastor Bob Metzger officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
