Roger Hendricks, 65, of rural Plymouth, passed away at 5:48 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart.

Roger was born the son of Robert Dale and Donna Marie (Wolff) Hendricks at Plymouth, on Dec. 28, 1950. Roger graduated with the John Glenn High School class of 1969. He retired from the Bendix Corporation after 25 years of service in the brake division. Roger was a proud volunteer with the Polk Township Fire Department. He also served as past president of Marshall County 4-H.

On June 21, 1970, Roger married the former Bonnie J. Whitmer at Pine Creek Church of the Brethren in North Liberty, Inda. She preceded Roger in passing Feb. 27, 2016.

Roger is survived by his daughter: Marty Hendricks and Drew Godfrey of Elkhart; his son: Russell and Helen Hendricks of Plymouth; granddaughter: Katelyn Hendricks; and his sister: Pam and Kenny Whitmer of South Bend.

Roger is preceded in passing by his parents, wife, and brother: Larry P. Hendricks on Feb. 10, 2006.

A funeral in honor of Roger will be held at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service Tuesday, March 15, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, with Chaplain Joseph Emmerth officiating. Burial will follow the service in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.

A time of visiting with the Hendricks family will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, March 14, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home

The Hendricks family request memorial contributions be given to the Center of Hospice Care, 112 S. Center Street, Plymouth, IN 46563
