Anna Cone Featured At Grace College Exhibit
WINONA LAKE — Anna Cone, resident of Warsaw, is featured in the upcoming senior artwork showcase in Mount Memorial Gallery at Grace College. This is the second of three senior art exhibits for students in the department of visual, performing, and media arts.
Their cumulative and thesis work will be displayed at 10:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 14-26. The opening reception with the artists will take place from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 18.
The exhibit showcases the students’ individual talents and academic skills acquired at Grace College. There are seven participants: graphic design majors Anna Joy Cone and Amanda Bowman, art majors Bryanna VanNostran and Jessica Vogel, illustration major Abigail Barrett, and photography major Breanna Clark. Schylar Miller is double-majoring in graphic design and photography.
During her time in the art department, Cone most enjoyed learning about watercolor. “I chose to study at Grace because it was the best place for me to grow closer to the Lord, as well as my artistic ability,” Cone said. She hopes to use her gifts in service to others, helping solve problems and build branding for companies. Additionally, Cone would like to teach art overseas.
The Grace College art department’s goal is to equip graduates with the ability to communicate visually, possess professional skills and be able to analyze works from historical and contemporary cultural perspectives. Students learn to demonstrate excellence in creative work that ultimately serves in their calling as artists, Christians and professionals.
