Penguin Point Donates To Scholarship Fund
KOSCIUSKO — Penguin Point Franchise Systems recently presented a generous donation of funds contributed by friends and customers of Jackie Tucker, in the amount of $1,000, to the Kosciusko County Community Foundation for the Jackie Rae Shilling Tucker Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Tucker graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1975. During her teenage years she worked at Penguin Point and after she retired from an industrial job in 2009, she returned to Penguin Point. She was well liked by co-workers and customers and known for singing and bringing laughter to the work place.
Tucker’s niece, Teresa Craig, established the scholarship fund to honor Tucker’s memory in 2015. The fund will provide scholarships for graduates of WCHS who participate in the high school choir, demonstrate financial need, maintain a C average or above, demonstrate community involvement or work a part-time job, and who are family oriented.
“We were delighted to assist Jackie’s family in collecting donations for the scholarship in her name. The company’s relationship with her family dates to the 1960s and includes many members of both our families working together,” said Wes Stouder, president/chief executive officer of Penguin Point.
