NAPPANEE —The Nappanee Public Library will host Pinterest Night 2.0 for interested individuals and the Nappanee Center is looking for quilts for it’s upcoming exhibit.
Pinterest Night 2.0
The Nappanee Public Library’s popular Pinterest night is back for an encore from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 29. If you’ve been unable to attend prior meetings of the program, check out Pinterest night 2.0, which is scheduled quarterly in the Library’s maker space, The Cube.
Pinterest night 2.0 gives crafters the chance to work on a variety of projects that have been featured during the monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. All materials will be supplied to create T-shirt scarves, no-sew bags, felt flower pins and hair accessories, a book page pumpkin or a finger-knitted ear warmer. Just pick your project and pay $5 each. A library staff member will be on hand to assist crafters.
All ages are welcome but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Supplies are limited for each project.
Register by calling (574) 773-7919 or by clicking on the events calendar at www.nappaneelibrary.org.
Nappanee Center Looking for Nappanee Quilts
Do you have a quilt that tells a Nappanee story or commemorates a special event? Do you have a quilt that has been passed down through generations of your family? Perhaps your club has created a quilt as a community fundraiser. If you have a quilt made in or by someone from Nappanee, the Nappanee Center would like to include it in its 2016 quilt exhibit. Climb into the attic, open up the cedar chest, and share your heirloom with the entire community.
Speaking of Quilts: Voices from the Community will be on display May 30 through Sept. 30, at the Nappanee Center. Hours are 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
If you or someone you know owns a quilt that tells a Nappanee story, contact Martha at (574) 773-7919 or [email protected].
