Nappanee Public Library Spring Break Events

NAPPANEE — No plans to hit the beach or the big city this year for Spring Break? No worries; visit the Nappanee Public Library for a week full of fun. The Children’s Department has scheduled a lineup of daily open activities and special programs April 4-8 to keep little bodies busy and families entertained. The following programs require no registration.
- 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 4: Stop in any time for open Lego building.
- 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, April 4: Stop in any time during Library hours and take part in our Pipe Cleaner Craft Challenge in the Kids’ Craft Room.
- 6 p.m. Monday, April 4 Watch the 2016 animated movie “Good Dinosaur” in the upper level meeting rooms.
- 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 6: Stop in during Library hours for a make and take craft in the Kids’ Craft Room.
- Thursday – Saturday: Thursday and Friday is fun for your plushy friends! Bring one stuffed animal in to the Kids’ Desk between 3-9 p.m. Thursday, April 7. When you pick them up on Saturday, March 9, you’ll get a photo album full of pictures of their mini vacation adventures inside the Library. Space is limited.

Recipe Swap
Looking for ways to spice up your weekly menu or wow a crowd at your next potluck? The Nappanee Public Library will host a new recipe swap program from 7-8 p.m. the second Monday of each month. The next meeting will be held on April 11, and the theme will be “Appetizers.” To participate, sign up on the events calendar at www.nappaneelibrary.org, or call (574) 773-7919. Submit your recipe to any service desk or email it to [email protected] in advance. Bring your appetizer to the tasting on the 11th, and go home with a stack of new recipes from fellow home cooks

Invention Workshop For Kids
Kids in grades three through five are invited to try their hand at several Makey Makey invention kits in a program at the Nappanee Public Library from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. Turn everyday objects into touch pads and combine them with the Internet for exciting results. This program is great for curious kids who are interested in art, music, engineering and everything in between!

Pinterest Night
Make a set of drink coasters from Scrabble tiles at the next Nappanee Public Library Pinterest Night. Crafters will meet in the Cube, the Library’s makerspace,f rom 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13. All materials will be provided at a cost of $5.
All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pinterest Night is designed as a collaborative, learn-as-you-make program where participants share ideas and tips to complete popular projects found on Pinterest, the virtual bulletin board and Internet hub for bookmarking lifestyle links and images.
