Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
5:03 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, North Hartzler Street, north of West Hudson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dyson A. Redden, 17, West Ellsworth Street, Columbia City and Lacie M. Warner, 30, West Madison Street, Plymouth. Redden’s vehicle struck the back of the Warner vehicle, causing the Warner vehicle to spin around two times. A passenger in Redden’s vehicle: D-Andre Street, 16, North Hartzler Street, Warsaw, suffered minor bleeding to the face; and a passenger in the Warner vehicle, Jesse R. Fugate, 34, West Madison Street, Plymouth, complained of pain to the neck. Street was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Fugue refused treatment stating he would seek treatment on his own. Redden was cited for driving without financial responsibility and unreasonable speed – speed to fast to avoid a collision. Damage up to $25,000.
4:29 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, North Hartzler Street, north of West Hudson Street, Warsaw.. Driver; Bernadine A. Waikel, 54, West Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Waikel was attempting to turn the school bus she was driving around and said the back of the bus swung wider than expected brushing against the front bumper of a parked vehicle registered to James W. Akers, South SR 5, South Whitley. Damage up to $1,000.
11:35 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, East CR 1300N, west of North Kern Road, Syracuse. Driver: Jennifer A. Noble, 23, North Main Street, Milford. Noble over-corrected her vehicle after it drifted off the roadway causing it to go back off the road, rolling and landing on its roof. Damage up to $10,000.
6:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, East Armstrong Road, west of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Gregory M. Dvorak, 40, North SR 13, Syracuse. Dvorak suffered a fracture/dislocation to the ankle and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Dvorak’s vehicle went off the road, traveled a long distance in the ditch before colliding with a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
11:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, East US 30, east of SR 13, Pierceton. Drivers: William J. Zimmerman, 78, West Commercial Street, Hartford City, and Roger Gordon, 54, Van Scoyoc Street, Avilla. Zimmerman and a passenger in his vehicle, Marlene Zimmerman, 72, West Commercial Street, Hartford City, complained of pain to the chest. Both were transported to a hospital. Zimmerman went to stop his vehicle but could not, hitting the trailer on a semitractor driven by Gordon. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:03 a.m. Friday, March 25, North Fort Wayne Avenue, Warsaw. Driver: Travis J. Johnson, 39, North Sherman Street, Warsaw. Johnson’s vehicle struck a NIPSCO pole and telephone company guide while during a police pursuit. Damage up to $5,000.
8 a.m. Thursday, March 24, Chinworth Court, Warsaw. Driver: Jill A. Farster, 40, Chinworth Court, Warsaw. Farster was backing her vehicle, hitting a dumpster. Damage up to $1,000.
4:14 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, West Island View Drive, south of Shady Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Abbey J. Hagan, 45, West Island View Drive, Warsaw. Injured Alexandria K. Moody, 20, East Island View Drive, Warsaw, suffered an abrasion to the elbow/lower arm. Police were notified by the emergency room of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. During the investigation, Hagan was contacted and told police while backing her vehicle from her driveway she saw Moody standing near her yard. When she neared the end of the drive, Moody, who was wearing headphones and looking at her phone, had started walking toward her vehicle, so she stopped, at which time Moody walked into the driver’s side of the vehicle and fell down. Moody declined a ride to the hospital at that time. Damage under $750.
