John “Derek” Wagner, Etna Green, passed away at his residence at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the age of 30. He is now with his Heavenly Father and no longer in any more pain.

He attended Christ’s Covenant Church in Winona Lake. Even with his lifelong illnesses, Derek was a kind hearted and giving young man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace son.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1985, in Warsaw, to John Wagner and Glenda (Burchett) Wagner. He was married on March 28, 2008, to Ashley M. (Martin) Wagner, who survives in Rensselaer, with his two daughters: Micaela and Aubrie Wagner.

He will be lovingly remembered by his father: John (fiancée Charlesette Williams) Wagner, Elkhart; paternal grandmother: Constance Wagner, Bourbon; maternal grandmother: Mary Burchett, Warsaw; his loving daughters: Micaela; and Aubrie; his wife and best friend: Ashley M. (Martin) Wagner, Rensselaer; all of his wife’s family; his girlfriend and loyal companion: Trish, Renssalaer; many aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother on Jan. 6, 2006.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. There will be visitation time prior to the service from 9-11 a.m.
