Glenn R. Williams
Glenn R. Williams 93, Rochester, passed away at 12:03 a.m. Friday April 1, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1922, in Cass County, the son of Wilbur and Mildred (Kistler) Williams. He served with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart while serving in Germany.
On Jan. 8, 1944, in Pulaski County, he married Margaret A. Kasten. She preceded him in death on June 14, 2015.
Mr. Williams had been dairy farmer. He was a member of the Fulton United Methodist Church. He loved his John Deere Equipment, football and spending his time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered by many, who drove by his house, as the fellow sitting in his golf cart with his bib overalls, his cigar and his John Deere Hat.
Survivors include his children: Diane Miller, Kokomo; Steve and wife Rebecca Williams, Macy; Beth Doles, Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Karen Williams, Ramona, Okla.; grandchildren: Chad Williams, Owasso, Okla.; Jeremy Williams, Jackson, Mich.; Kyle Doles, Indianapolis; Zachary and wife Stacy Williams, Galveston; Andrew Williams, Warren, Ark.; Daniel and wife Katie Williams, Logansport; Sarah and husband Greg Rockel, Indianapolis; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Bertha Antico, Connersville; and sister-in-law: Phyllis Williams, Venice, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his son: Dean Williams; grandson: Brent Williams; brothers: Homer E. Williams and Keith Williams; and sister: Belva Skinner.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday April 4,at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, with Rev. George Hapner officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veteran’s Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Monday April 4, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Fulton.
