Spring Break Crafts

It’s finally Spring break. Come into the library for a fun spring craft every single day this week. These crafts will be available during our regular business hours all week. Monday, April 4, we plan to make a Jeweled Butterfly Ornament. Tuesday, April 5, come and color a wood paddleball. Wednesday, April 6, you can create a paper plate flower. Thursday, April 7, color your very own bookmark. Friday, April 8, color a sun catcher to put in your window. Saturday, April 9, all the crafts will be available Saturday if you missed making one during the week. If you’re looking for something fun to do during Spring Break, visit the Children’s Department and enjoy these fun crafts. 

Spring Preschool Story Time

Spring Story Time begins this week. Join Julie Frew for our first week of story time for ages 3-6. Our first week will be magical as we talk about Fairy Tales with the Book Fairy. Frew will be reading books about Fairies and Fairytales at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 and at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7. After she has read some books, we get to make our very own fairy wands with stars, glitter, ribbons, and a straw.

Enjoy an edible fairy wand snack after the craft. Each story time is about 45 minutes long and includes listening to stories, making a craft or playing games, and sharing a nutritious snack. Sign up in the children’s department at the children’s desk now or call us at (574) 658-4312.

Lapsit

Spring is here. Time again for Lapsit Story Time. Lapsit Story Time is for children ages zero to 36 months. Bring your little ones for four weeks of stories, songs and finger plays with Malea Johnson. Our theme this spring is April Showers. Lapsit begins this week, April 1, and continues every Friday until 11 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. April 22. Sign up in the children’s department at the children’s desk now. LEGO Crew

LEGO Crew is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9. The second Saturday of each month, we get together and let our imaginations run wild. This program is for children age 5 and up. David Slonim Visit

As part of our celebration of Indiana’s 200th birthday, we are bringing Indiana author illustrator David Slonim to our schools and to Milford for a series of programs on April 21.

Have you ever met an Indiana author? Now you have a chance. David Slonim, author and illustrator of children’s books, will be coming to the Milford Community building at 7 p.m. April 21. He has a great presentation planned and may even draw some illustrations right on the spot. The event is free and everyone is welcome.

The event is sponsored by the Milford Public Library, Milford School, North Webster Elementary, Syracuse Elementary, The Papers Inc, Anonymous, Friends of the Milford Public Library, and Kosciusko Literacy Services. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity for family fun and plan to attend.
