Grace Track: Seitz Sets Pair Of Records
DANVILLE, Ky. – Macallister Seitz set two school records and qualified for NAIA Nationals on Saturday for the Grace College track and field team.
The men’s team finished sixth out of 18 teams represented, and the Lady Lancers were ninth out of 19.
Seitz headlined the Lancers’ appearance at the Centre College Invitational. He met the NAIA standard in the discus, tossing a school-record distance of 165-feet. He also broke a school record in the hammer throw with a heave of 146-10.
Karla Singer met the NCCAA qualifying mark in the 10000-meter run, earning fourth place in 41:36.43.
Jo Boren and Raven Arellano each placed third in their respective events. Boren ended the 400 in 58.69 seconds, and Arellano crossed the finish line of the 5000 in 19:11.74.
On the men’s side, Lance Taylor placed third in the 400 with a time of 49.60, and Cameron Johnson was fourth in the 400 hurdles in 57.66. Joel Bertelsen also produced a PR in the 5000.
The Lancers will head to Upland, Ind., next Saturday for the Taylor Invitational.
