Hamilton Arrested After Fiancee Knocked Unconscious
WARSAW — A Warsaw resident has been arrested after allegedly knocking his fiancee unconscious during an argument.
Joshua J. Hamilton, 34, 519 W. Winona Ave., Warsaw, was charged with domestic battery and domestic battery with a child under age 16 present.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Warsaw City Police Department received a call around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, March 24, pertaining to a domestic battery.
Officers arrived at the residence to find a female victim with a swollen lip and bleeding from the mouth. She told officers she and her fiancee, Hamilton, had been arguing and that he left, but came back and hit her on the left side of the mouth, knocking her unconscious.
The affidavit further states that the couple’s infant son was present as the incident was taking place. Officers questioned Hamilton, who told them she must have punched herself, causing her injuries.
Hamilton was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail. His bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
