Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
8:11 a.m. Thursday, April 7, North CR 700W and West CR 400N, Atwood. Driver: Maranda R. Stookey, 26, Norht CR 250W, Milford. Hit deer. Damage up to $2,500.
8:09 a.m. Thursday, April 7, East CR 700N and North CR 300E, Leesburg. Drivers: Carol S. Ammerman, 61, East Van Buren Street, Nappanee, and Nathan D. Kinney, 22, Crescent Drive, Warsaw. Ammerman’s vehicle turned into the path of Kinney’s vehicle and they collided. Ammerman was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with complaints of neck pain. Kinney complained of elbow pain. Two passengers in Kinney’s vehicle, Derek A. Shea, 18, Hepler Drive, Warsaw, and Jesse R. Narvaez, 22, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw, complained of knee and lower leg pain. Kinney and the two passengers drove themselves to Kosciusko Community Hospital to be examined. Damage up to $25,000.
9 a.m. Sunday, April 3, South Graceland Avenue north of East Harrison Street, Claypool. Driver: Vincent C. Marino, 20, South Graceland Avenue, Claypool. Marino reported a hit-and-run accident. A witness said he saw a male walking away. Neighbors identified the driver as Marino and police spoke with him and found out he did not have a valid license or insurance on the vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:39 p.m. Friday, April 8, 713 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. Drivers: Franklin H. Kamp, 30, South Detroit Street, Warsaw, and Judy A. Nichols, 65, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Kamp began backing his vehicle and the trailer he was towing hit Nichols’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:39 p.m. Saturday, April 2, Lake City Highway east of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Connor D. O’Hara, 16, Ranch Road, Warsaw, and Craig A. Miller, 32, County Road 50, Ligonier. Miller’s vehicle was behind O’Hara’s vehicle, which began to slide. Miller attempted to slow down but could not and his vehicle hit O’Hara’s. Damage up to $2,500.
