Manchester University Sponsors A Raid
NORTH MANCHESTER — Manchester University has been known for its volunteer work. This year an honors class on campus was given the assignment to create a service project in the fall and implement it in the spring.
The class decided to have a fundraiser and raise money to sponsor a raid in an effort to help young girls and women involved with sex trafficking through The International Justice Mission, a nonprofit group dedicated to helping resolve violence in developing countries.
The money raised will not only sponsor a raid to rescue the victims, but also cover their rehabilitation and legal costs. To raise money to help these girls, there will be a Color Me Free run held on the Manchester University campus 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
This project has been put together with the hard work of these honors students trying to make the world a better place. Registration will be available online by going to: https://link.manchester.edu/colormefree.
Registering by April 12, will guarantee a Color Me Free t-shirt; registration is available after, but participants will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. To participate, the cost will be $20 for each adult and $12 for each student.
