Harter Sets Track Records For Huntington
HUNTINGTON – It was a record-setting day for Mariah Harter on Saturday.
The former WCHS track standout was part of a pair of school records while competing for Huntington University in the Little State Championships held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
Harter, a freshman for the Foresters, won Gold as she set a school record in the 200 meters with a time of 25.05. Her performance topped the old school mark, which had stood since 1990.
Harter also ran on the 4 X 100 relay team that placed third in a school-record effort of 48.13. That performance qualifies the relay team for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships set for May 26-28 in Alabama.
Harter was a four-year letter winner for coach Scott Erba’s highly-successful Warsaw program. She was part of the program’s 4 X 100 relay team that placed eighth at the IHSAA State Finals in 2015. Harter was on the 4 X 100 relay team in 2014 that finished as state runner-up.
