John E. Cox
John E. Cox, 91 went to Heaven at 4:42 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 in his residence. He was born on February 10, 1925 in Logansport, Indiana to Neal and Goldie (Sturgeon) Cox. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, Class of 1944.
He was united in marriage to Geraldine Richardson on March 28, 1945. They had seventy one wonderful years together. Geraldine survives in Warsaw.
John Joined the U.S. Army in 1944. He served twenty months with the 263rd Infantry Regiment in the European Theater and also held a military drivers permit. John was honorably discharged in June of 1946. He then worked on the railroad in his early life. He worked at Arnold Corp. for many years and then worked for Zimmer Inc. until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed his close family, especially the children. He enjoyed driving with his wife to the store and out to eat.
John is also survived by two loving daughters: Sharon (and spouse Franklin R.) Jones, Warsaw; and Carol (and spouse Walker) Meredith, Warsaw; grandchildren:Nicole (and spouse Gabriel) Gonzalez, San Antonio, Texas; Melinda (and spouse Troy) Aranda, San Antonio, Texas; Jonathan (and spouse Nicolette) Meredith, Warsaw; Carley (and spouse Tyler) Wetzel, Leesburg; great grandchildren, Christopher Meredith, Ireland Aranda, Khloe Gonzalez and Ameila Wetzel.
There is no service planned.
