Wagon Wheel Jr. Presents Spring Musical
WARSAW — Wagon Wheel Jr., the youth community theatre branch of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, will present its 2016 spring show, “The Story of Hansel and Gretel,” at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, at Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts.
Sent into the woods, Hansel and Gretel meet up with a number of peculiar characters, including a fiery troll, an articulate owl, a forest sprite and two hobgoblins in the service of an evil (but extremely funny) witch. The witch locks Hansel in a cage and feeds him nothing but cake!
Gretel is able to outwit the crone and set free all the children who have been turned into cookies! Every dramatic moment is brought to life, from the night spent in the woods to the discovery of the candy-coated little cottage. The show is sweetened with fun songs including “Gingerbread Witch” and “Apple Muffin Goblins.”
The production will feature 24 students representing 14 schools from Warsaw and the surrounding areas. Multiple cast members will be making their Wagon Wheel Jr. debuts in “The Story of Hansel and Gretel.”
Come early to the show to check out bake sale offerings in the lobby, where all proceeds will go to support the Wagon Wheel Jr. program. Tickets are available at the box office, over the phone at (574)267-8041, and online at www.wagonwheelcenter.org.
