Rescue Offering Rides For Pets
WARSAW — One Dog at a Time Rescue is taking registrations for the transport to the Humane Organization for the Prevention of Euthanasia For Animals, a low cost spay/neuter clinic, in Fort Wayne. While the April transport is already full a list is being compiled for May. One Dog at a Time Rescue can take up to 20 animals a month.
ODTR runs the transport monthly March through October. This transport is open to the public and helps provide a low cost spay/neuter service to people who would otherwise not be able to get their animals altered. Altering pets is healthier for them and also helps keep shelters from being overrun with unwanted animals.
Prices are as follows:
- Female dogs, $70, more than 50 pounds, $85
- Male dogs $65, over 50 pounds $80
- Female cats $55
- Male cats $40
Rabies vaccine is required if not current. The cost is $16. All animals must come in a plastic transport crate. No soft-sided or wire crates will be permitted.
Pre-registration is required. Contact Suzanne Abel at (574) 527-7085 to get on the list. Space is limited, so those interested are asked to register early. Pet drop-off and pickup is in the Big R parking lot at 3660 Commerce Dr., Warsaw.
