MARSHALL COUNTY — Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. The accident was at Union Road and Fifth Road.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reports Kassandra Vaca, 22, Walkerton, Cole Kaser, 21, Walkerton and Leah Kaser, no age or address given, were all transported by Polk EMS from the scene to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. The extent of their injuries were not provided.

Investigating officers report Vaca was stopped on Fifth Road, at the intersection with Union Road, in her Chevrolet Impala, preparing to travel westbound on Fifth Road. Vica proceeded through the intersection and struck Kaser’s Ford truck as it was traveling southbound on Union Road. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
