Boy’s Roller Coaster Ride Ends With Seatbelt Mishap
AMARILLO, TEXAS — A trip to a Texas amusement park took a scary turn after a father says his son’s seat belt came off during a ride.
Delbert Latham and his 6-year-old son Kaysen were on a roller coaster called the “Mousetrap” at Wonderland Park in Amarillo, Texas this past weekend.
On their second time riding the coaster, Kaysen’s seat belt came off shortly after takeoff and he started to slip down to the bottom of the cart.
That’s when his dad’s reflexes kicked in.
“As it dropped, I felt the seat belt come apart and when it did, he was going down to the bottom of the cart, so I reached over to grab him and hold him up,” Delbert said.
Delbert says he’s not looking for any money or a lawsuit out of this. He hasn’t contacted a lawyer.
He wants Wonderland Park to find a solution to this problem so it won’t happen to other families.
He said he and his family won’t be going back to the park.
