Alamo Remembered In Cubs Win
SOUTH BEND – Tyler Alamo drove in four runs leading the South Bend Cubs to a series sweep of Beloit with a 6-3 win Saturday night.
After Beloit scored three times in the top of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead, Eddy Julio Martinez delivered an RBI single scoring Donnie Dewees to cut the deficit to 3-2. Then Alamo started his big night with a 2-run single tallying Eloy Jimenez and Martinez to allow South Bend to re-gain the lead 4-3.
Alamo in the eighth inning, after just missing a grand slam with the ball going foul down the left field line, delivered a 2-run single to finish off his professional career high four run batted in game. The four-RBI game was also the most by a South Bend Cubs player this season.
