David W. Berger
David W. “Dave” Berger, 82, North Webster, passed away at 5:24 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on Jan. 28, 1934 in Fort Wayne to Everett W. and Thelma V. (Herbst) Berger.
He moved to North Webster when he was 8 years old from Fort Wayne, graduated in 1951 from North Webster High School, and then Indiana University in Bloomington. He was a United States Air Force veteran and was married on July 28, 1962 in North Webster, to Betty G. Tindall who survives. He retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons after 28 years of service and formerly worked at I.B.M. for three years.
He was a founding member of the New Life Christian Church and World Outreach in Warsaw, 60 year member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, Masonic Lodge in Cromwell, and Mizpah Shriners in Fort Wayne. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Berger of North Webster; three daughters: Gina Bono of Boulder, Colo.; Lori (Matt) Brubaker of Warsaw; and Michele (Jerry) Fisher of North Webster; nine grandchildren; one great grandson; four step grandchildren; and nine step great grandchildren; his sister: Patricia (Burdette “Tony”) Strombeck of North Webster also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Melody May; and step grandson: Kinser Brubaker.
Cremation will take place at cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 2–5 p.m. at New Life Christian Church, 744 S 325 E, Warsaw, IN. Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the church with Pastor John B. Lowe II officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Air Force Honor Guard and American Legion Post 253. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, is in charge of all arrangements.
