Charges Filed Against Nichols From April Arrest
WARSAW — Charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, both level 6 felonies and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor, were officially filed in Kosciusko Circuit Court against Jodie Michelle Nichols, 22, 3233 S SR 15, Warsaw. Nichols was arrested by police on April 28.
The affidavit of probable cause state Nichols was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police for other reasons. The driver, known to police, told police he had been clean from illegal drugs for one week. However, when Nichols was asked if there were illegal substances in the vehicle, she admitted there was methamphetamine in her purse.
Inside the purse police located the meth in a glasses case, weighing less than 1 gram. They also found a butane torch, lighters, smoking pipe and plastic tube. Searching the vehicle, police found a bag containing seven hypodermic needs and two pieces of cotton used as a filter for the needle.
