Syracuse Public Library has a variety of events scheduled for the week of May 16-12, including:
Activities in Syracuse
Stop at the Syracuse library when visiting the family-friendly Cruise-In in uptown Syracuse. Sit on the new benches, eat popcorn, play a game and pick up information about activities at the library this summer. With the bicentennial, many organizations offer an abundance of activities to entertain summer guests and vacationers. See you Friday, May 20, when visiting some great cars and get some music and food.
Geocaching Event
Geocachers alert: Get a Pathtag for attending a flash mob event at the library June 4. WWFM – XIII -Bookworm at the library. A geocaching 101 class is offered at noon for people who are interested in learning about geocaching.
TravelRama
Adults will have TravelRama offerings with local people talking about their trips and Around Our Town events of local interest. The talks are at 6:30 p.m. Mondays at 6:30 p.m. or 11 a.m. Saturdays.
Preview of the Week
Street Art for Preschoolers takes place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17. Rain or shine, children will get their hands on colorful sidewalk chalk. Drop in, check out some books and do some art. Later in the day, young people are invited for a bread, pepperoni, cheese and apple cooking class. The young adult book club is meeting for the last time before summer at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 17. Teens are invited to play Apples to Apples, a game of crazy comparisons.
Lego Build
Lego Build meets at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, for a freestyle or instruction-guided morning with Lego bricks. The library has plenty of different sets to work on. Call the library at (574) 457-3022. Questions may now go directly to the adult or children’s department through the new menu options.
