Theodore ‘Ted’ M. Alexander
Theodore “Ted” M. Alexander, 71, Mishawaka, died 8:38 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
He was born Sept. 7, 1944, in South Bend to Theodore M. and Edith (Armstrong) Alexander. He married Kathy (Lowman) Balasa on May 24, 2014.
Surviving are his wife: Kathy, Mishawaka; son: Michael (Ashley) Alexander, Zionsville; daughter: Erin (Wayne) Hilliker, Tuolumne, Calif.; stepdaughter: Laura (Jared) Hostetler, Mishawaka; stepsons: Bryan (Pam) Balasa, Mendon, Mich.; Bruce (Lynell) Balasa, Wakarusa; Brad (Nicole) Balasa, Nappanee; brother: Charles Alexander, South Bend; two grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents.
Ted was a graduate of Mishawaka High School and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Bendix, South Bend, was a member of the Steelheaders, attended the Bible Baptist Church, enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music and attending grandchildren’s events.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service on Friday, May 20, at the Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa. Pastor David Harper will officiate. Reith-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Silver Spur, Tuolumne, Calif. and sent to the funeral home or to the Bible Baptist Church.
