WCHS Bands Present, ‘The Serious Moonlight’
WARSAW — The Warsaw Community High School bands will present their annual pops concert, titled, “The Serious Moonlight,” at 7:39 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in the WCHS Performing Arts Center.
The WCHS concert band will perform music from movie soundtracks, including a medley from Disney’s “Tangled,” music from “Young Frankenstein” and “Live and Let Die” from the James Bond film.
The WCHS Wind Ensemble will pay tribute to the music of David Bowie and Prince by performing hits by the two artists. The program will include, “Life On Mars,” “Let’s Dance” and “Under Pressure” by Bowie; “1999,” “When Doves Cry” and “Purple Rain” by Prince; and many others. The WCHS flute ensemble, jazz band and percussion ensemble will also perform.
The flute ensemble is under the direction of Dianne Martin-Ratliff. All other bands and ensembles are directed by Mickey Ratliff and Emily Mikel. The concert is free and open to the public. Contact the WCHS Performing Arts Center at (574) 371-5037 for more information.
