Ghost Hunters Explore Warsaw Jail Museum
WARSAW — The Old Kosciusko County Jail Museum has its fair share of ghost stories and these stories have inspired a number of paranormal investigators to explore the jail in an attempt to catch a glimpse of something inexplicable. The latest investigation took place May 7, and was led by Past Midnight Paranormal, a paranormal investigative organization based out of New Paris.
“I have always been attracted to the paranormal and spiritual realms, ever since I was a child,” said Cassandra Bowling, the lead investigator and historian of Past Midnight Paranormal.
“I came to a point in my journey that I really wanted to begin looking deeper at the possibility of the afterlife and the science that is being developed to prove its existence,” she continued. Past Midnight Paranormal has investigated a number of locations, in particular a site in Goshen which seems to produce anomalies on a fairly regular basis, however, Bowling stated that the site would remain unnamed for privacy concerns.
The investigation at the jail may very well have positive results. “We did experience a few oddities in our photos and some footsteps above us that we couldn’t explain… The most exciting moment of he night was when we were sitting in the kitchen… and our electromagnetic field detector began going off continuously for 10 minutes.”
The team intends to return to the jail at a future date in order to collect more data.
“To me its not a ‘religious’ experiment as I have devout faith and have no doubt that we live on after this life… I have a very curious and scientific mind and want to know the why and how these types of events are able to happen,” Bowling said.
For those interested in exploring the Old Kosciusko County Jail Museum’s ghostlier side, equipment and time at the building are both available for rent. For more information, visit the website.
