Golfers Go 1-1 In TRC Action
The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team went 1-1 in a Three Rivers Conference triangular Tuesday night at the Round Barn Golf Course in Rochester.
League champion Northfield finished at 175 to win the TRC match. Valley came in at 183 and Wabash at 215.
Jeremy Julian led the Vikings with a 44. Cole Cumberland and Chandler Newsome each shot 46, while Trevor Neeley had a 47 and Kane Stellar 58 for Valley.
Valley, now 6-4, will face Manchester and Whitko Thursday in TRC play at the Sycamore Golf Course.
The Valley junior varsity team shot 236. Chris Schipper led the JV Vikings with a 57. Bryston Canada and Wyatt Hall each had a 59, John Young a 61 and Noah Hoffman a 65.
Softball Squad Falls To Manchester
The Tippecanoe Valley softball team lost a 10-0 decision in six innings in a Three Rivers Conference game at Manchester Tuesday evening.
Manchester outhit the Vikings 16-3 in the contest.
Abby Betten had two hits and Kayla Scott one for Valley. Sydney Howard was the losing pitcher for the Vikings.
Sydney Day had two hits, including a home run, and four RBI for Manchester. Mattie McKee had three hits and drove in three runs for the Squires. Brooklyn Howard was the winning pitcher, going four innings and allowing just one hit with three strikeouts.
Valley, now 7-13 overall and 1-7 in the TRC, hosts Peru today (May 18) and hosts Warsaw Friday before playing NorthWood next Monday in the Class 3-A Fairfield Sectional.
