Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
3:51 a.m. Thursday, May 19, West US 30 west of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Keith E. Panek, 44, Scenic Drive, Grayling, Mich. Panek’s vehicle struck a deer. damage up to $5,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
7:51 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 900 W. Brooklyn St., Syracuse. Driver: Brandon D. Carr, 30, East Pittsburgh Street, Syracuse. Carr’s vehicle hit a parked car belonging to Jami L. Cantu, North Nash Drive, Syracuse, then drove off. Carr was later cited for operating while suspended and failure to stop after an accident. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:09 p.m. Thursday, May 19, Lake City Highway wast of Access Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Wayne D. Howell, 49, West Van Buren Street, Nappanee, Wesley A. Trabert, 21, South Washington Road, Columbia City, and David M. Collins, 46, North Barbee Road, Warsaw. Traffic stopped and Howell’s vehicle rear-ended Trabert’s vehicle, pushing it into Collins’s vehicle. Damage up to $25,000.
4:56 p.m. Thursday, May 19, South Lake Street and West Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Abraham J. Wertenberger, 69, East Main Street, Warsaw, David Castillejo, 34, East Melton Road, Gary, and Sherry R. Searles, 53, North Manchester. As Wertenberger crossed Winona Avenue, his vehicle collided with Castillejo’s oncoming vehicle, then with Searles’s vehicle. Castillejo was arrested for driving while suspended. Damage up to $25,000.
4:25 p.m. Thursday, May 19, East Center Street and North Hickory Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Melanie R. Wallen, 44, Country Club Road, Warsaw, and Carmen C. Rockwell, 38, Meadowdale Drive, North Manchester. Wallen proceeded into the intersection and her vehicle was struck by Rockwell’s oncoming vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
4:03 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 211 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. An unknown vehicle hit a parked car belonging to Annelies K. Campbell, East Canal Street, Winona Lake. and drove off. Damage up to $5,000.
