Ryan James Prater

WARSAW — Ryan J. Prater, 28, 533 E. Market St., Warsaw, has been arrested on a stalking charge following a Jan. 31, incident. The charge is a level 5 felony.

The affidavit of probable cause states July 25, 2015, Justine Davis met with Warsaw Police to file a complaint against her boyfriend Ryan J. Prater. Davis accused Prater of being psychotic and following a disagreement he damaged her vehicle. He spread charcoal all over the inside of her vehicle, kicked and damaged the interior back door, broke the turn signal lever and bent a windshield wiper blade.

A protective order was filed Sept. 28, 2015, prohibiting Prater from having any contact with Davis. Prater allegedly violated that order. On Jan. 31, Davis contacted police and reported Prater had been contacting her through Facebook and threatened to post nude photos of her if she didn’t agree to meet with him. After she refused to meet with him, he did post the photos.

Copies of the post, along with a conversation where Prater attempted to coerce/blackmail her into meeting with him, were were given to police.

Prater was booked Monday, May 23, and held on $5,000 surety, $250 cash bond.
