South Bend tried to stage a comeback in the seventh inning down 7-2. Eloy Jimenez extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a two-RBI double. But the inning’s momentum was halted when Jimenez was picked off second base.
The Cubs open a brand new series at Four Winds Field Friday at 7:35 p.m. versus the Lansing Lugnuts.
