Carla L. Fulk-UPDATED
Carla L. Fulk, 60, Columbia City, passed away at 7 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2016, at her home on Wilson Lake. Born November 4, 1955, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Carl E. and Alice Louise (Mead) Knuckles.
She grew up in Fort Wayne alongside her siblings, Leo and Brenda and had another sister, Diane. The family moved to South Whitley when she was entering high school. Carla enjoyed taking home economics classes while attending Whitko High School. She went on to graduate with the Class of 1977. She worked for 22 years at Dana in Columbia City, which when she started in 1983 was known as United Technology. One evening while visiting the Haunted Jail in Columbia City, she would meet the man of her dreams, Tim Fulk, who was working at the attraction. The two started dating and fell in love. On Aug. 14, 2004, they were married in Columbia City. Carla enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, fishing, being on the lake and surfing the internet.
She is survived by her husband: Tim Fulk; son: Johnny Couch, South Whitley; four step-daughters: Lindy (Russ) Young, Laud; Jennifer (Andy) Bolinger, North Manchester; Shelby (Nick) Kaufman, Elkhart; and Brittany Fulk, Fort Wayne; sister: Brenda Oliver, Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Alice Knuckles; sister: Diane Sorg; and brother: Leo Knuckles.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 3, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story, Funeral Home, Columbia City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Carla’s memory to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
