Creighton Wins Best of Show
WARSAW — Warsaw artist Steve Creighton was awarded Best of Show for his landscape painting “Moonrise” at the 2016 Kokomo Art Association’s 90th Annual Spring Show on May 28 at the Kokomo Art Center. Creighton’s work was entered in the Association’s Class I Professional Division reserved for artists of two-dimensional artwork who have previously won either Best of Show or First Place in the Professional Division of any KAA show. Creighton has won multiple Best of Show awards at Kokomo Art Association.
The Show’s judge was IU-Kokomo’s Gregory Steel, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts and New Media at IUK. His work has been exhibited across the United States and Europe, most recently in China, Russia, London and in Barcelona, Spain.
Creighton’s newest artwork will be exhibited with photographs by area photographer Michael Kimble at Lakeland Art Gallery, 302 East Winona Avenue, Warsaw, from June 8 through July 2. An artists’ reception will take place Saturday, June 18, 1-3 p.m. The public is invited to attend to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments. Regular Lakeland Art Association Gallery hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
