Ignition Music Garage Presents Concert Series
GOSHEN — “As the local music scene continues to grow, we have decided to present some larger musical events in other venues,” said Steve Martin, founder of Ignition Music Garage. Since the Ignition Concert Series began in 2012, the venue’s reputation as a record store with a 200 capacity room has spread to record labels and the booking agencies that represent national touring acts.
“In this day in age, a professional musician must connect directly with new fans, and it all still comes down to radio airplay and touring.” Ignition helps the artist make that connection in a unique environment, a record store in a vintage auto garage.
Taking that experience to a larger audience is Ignition’s strategy to help grow the regional music scene according to Steve. “We have plenty of great venues in the larger regional market. All that we lack is the audience to fill those rooms on a regular basis. We are trying to help by showcasing what is possible. We have the attention of the record labels because of our partnership with 91.1 The Globe.”
The next step is an outdoor mini music festival at Goshen Brewing Company on Friday, June 17.
“All of these bands would normally be headlining their own shows at Ignition Music Garage. The Main Squeeze has sold out our room twice, and it’s time for them to move to a bigger capacity venue when they return to Goshen.”
The line up for June 17:
- The Soil & The Sun will be performing at 5 p.m.
- James & The Drifters will be performing at 6:15 p.m.
- Bonnie Bishop will be performing at 7:30 p.m.
- The Main Squeeze will be performing at 8:45 p.m.
“One of our biggest challenges will be maintaining our reputation for high quality sound both on stage and for the audience”. Ignition Music Garage has contracted with local professionals, EA Pro Music and Nimble Wit Productions, to ensure the best sound possible. “Nate Butler (Nimble Wit) is our production manager for the Ignition Concert Series. Billy Frisbie (EAPro) will be providing additional technical and engineering assistance when needed.“
“The lineup reflects the diversity of musical styles that we feature in our concert series. No one will be disappointed by the performances.” The Goshen Theater has been reserved if the show has to be moved inside. “Four headliners, craft beer, and great food are why we are taking this chance. It should be a special evening.”
