Parkview Noble To Host MS Education Event
KENDALLVILLE — Individuals with multiple sclerosis, their family members and caregivers and professionals who work with patients with MS are invited to a free MS education event from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Parkview Noble Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living.
Hosted by the Anna Yoder MS Fund at Indiana University School of Medicine-Fort Wayne, with support from Parkview Noble Hospital, the event will feature presentations from Stan and Janalee Bieberich of Fort Wayne and from Christi Price of Winona Lake.
Dr. Jimmy Yen, an MS researcher at IU School of Medicine-Fort Wayne, will discuss cutting-edge research he and his team are doing, which is gaining national attention.
Stan Bieberich, a recently retired CPA, was diagnosed with MS when his children were very young. Initially unable to walk or work, he and his wife, Janalee, a nurse, researched not only traditional pharmacological treatments, which Stan continues to use, but also the role of nutrition and exercise in managing MS symptoms. With humor, faith and a positive attitude, they bring hope and encouragement to others impacted by MS.
Price’s presentation will focus on a caregiver’s perspective. Both her husband and young adult son have MS, the son diagnosed at age 11.
A light supper will be provided; doors open at 5:45 p.m. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by June 15 to Jennifer Boen, director of the Anna Yoder MS Fund, at [email protected] or (260) 481-0577.
Founded in 2013 through the estate gift of Florabelle Yoder and administered by IU School of Medicine-Fort Wayne, the Anna Yoder MS Fund supports research, education and outreach services in northeast Indiana for individuals and their communities impacted by multiple sclerosis; it is the only entity exclusively serving people with MS living in this region.
