Public Input Wanted For Ker Park Renovation And Expansion
BY TIM DOMBROSKY
Warsaw Assistant City Planner
WARSAW — If selected as a Stellar Communities designee, one of Warsaw’s Stellar plans shows how Ker neighborhood park will be renovated and expanded to include a playground for children ages 2-5, a new picnic shelter and a new, accessible, neighborhood water feature for nearby children.
Through citizen-focused planning and engagement, the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department has grown to be a prize of the community. One of the most valuable and unique resources of the park’s system is neighborhood parks. Ker Park gives local kids the opportunity to play in a social atmosphere without needing transportation by biking and walking to nearby activities. By growing these neighborhood parks, we greatly improve the educational, physical and social benefits to residents.
An improved neighborhood park will improve local aesthetics and also the quality of children’s health.
To provide input for what would like to see in Ker Park, contact the City of Warsaw Planning Department office at (574) 372-9550. For more information on the Stellar Community’s Projects check out the Facebook page.
