Michael Eugene Byrd

Michael Eugene Byrd, 65, Syracuse, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.

He was born Oct. 3, 1950, in Elkhart, to Archie O. and Miriam A. (Pfeffley) Byrd. He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1970 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse. He previously worked at Millennium Industries, Ligonier, and Coachman Industries, Syracuse. He was a member of the NRA and an avid motorcycle fan.

He is survived by a son, Tad Vandermark, Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clifford E. Byrd.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 10, at Syracuse Cemetery, Mill St, Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse is in charge of arrangements.
