Test your skills at the library on June 16th!
Family Summer Story Time: Munch, Munch, Munch
Join us for our second week of Family Summer Story Time at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Friday, June 17. Bring the whole family to listen to Guest Storyteller Margaret Cousins as she reads stories about “Munch, Munch, Munch.” Margaret will show you a great cook book called “Kids Cook” by Betty Crocker that each family will get to take home with them that day. After Margaret reads stories, enjoy making a great craft and eating a nutritious snack. This summer your family can earn up to eight free books just by attending each of the family summer story times. Families may sign up at the Children’s circulation desk.
Father’s Day
Milford Public Library wants to wish every father a Happy Fathers Day on June 19. Fathers have such a great role in a person’s life, so head on into the library this week and get some books about fathers. Some books to read to your little ones to celebrate the way Dads teach us, laugh with us, help us and share our adventures are: “Froggy’s Day with Dad” by Jonathan London, “We Love Our Dad” by Jan Berenstain, “A Day with Daddy” by Louise Gikow, “Me and Dad” by Maria Catherine, and “Daddy will be There” by Lois G. Grambling. Come on in and get books to celebrate Dads!
Summer Reading Program
This year’s reading themes are: “Get in the Game, READ!” for teens, going into sixth grade through graduating seniors, and “On Your Mark, Get Set…READ!” for children, preschool through fifth grade. June 6 is the first day to sign up to participate in the summer reading program. Learn about our events by asking for a Summer Reading Brochure at either circulation desk. The brochure is filled with all the information you need to make plans for a fun and exciting summer. Earn prizes and have fun with your friends while reading books! We love to promote reading and encourage everyone to attend the special events we have planned this year. With such an active, exhilarating program planned, you will definitely have fun this summer! We hope to see you at the library!
